ABOUT US
Persatuan Pengendali Jagaan Berkediaman Warga Emas SeMalaysia ( Association for Residential Aged Care Operators of Malaysia ) or Agecope was initiated and registered as a National Association on the 4th of September, 2018. Agecope comprises of experienced professional practitioners working in the Aged Care Health industry. Our mission is to improve the standard of care to our elderly charges by collaborating with the related ministries and agencies to bring about positive changes in this industry. Agecope’s vision is to see a quality health care service for the elderly and for the industry to be supported in providing affordable high-quality care.
Quality of provision for elderly care in Malaysia is variable and reactive. There is a big gap between our existing elderly care industry and official rules and legislations which have no practical relation or application to the industry in reality.
We have identified that Aged Care in Malaysia could be strengthened to enhance provision of service and delivery of care in keeping with best practice as well as it being a vehicle as a representative to the Ministry and related agencies to voice concerns and offer ideas and solutions to progress the aged care industry for consumers and operators.
Agecope aims to bridge this gap by bringing to the government agencies experience and issues from the coalface, to work with maintaining the aspiration of the legislation, but to adapt it practically to our existing industry, and bringing along our fellow members in these changes and standards, It has long been identified that there is a distinct lack of cohesive collaborative approach to address the shortfalls of the industry thus leading to sub-standard provisions of care generally. It is in this regard that Agecope, will hopefully have a platform to architect changes for the better, working closely together with the Ministry and related agencies.
Agecope will also be a forum for all Residential Aged Care Operators in Malaysia to network and share valuable positive experiences and a support forum to assist those who are finding its operation a challenge.

To establish a national network for the operators of aged care facilities and services to coordinate, collaborate and share the resources, expertise and good practices towards quality aged care
Memastikan penjagaan yang holistik untuk warga emas, serta memberi penekanan terhadap komitmen kami untuk menyediakan penjagaan yang sesuai, pada masa yang sesuai, di tempat yang sesuai dan oleh orang yang sesuai;
To ensure holistic care for older persons, thus reaffirming our resolve to provide the right care, at the right time, at the right place and by the right people
Mempromosi kawal selia kendiri oleh industri melalui kepatuhan kepada piawaian minimum atau amalan terbaik serta menyokong latihan dan pembinaan kapasiti ke arah pendaftaran, perlesenan dan akreditasi kemudahan dan perkhidmatan jagaan warga emas.
To promote industry self-regulation through adherence to minimum standards or best practices as well as to support training and capacity building towards registration, licensing and accreditation of aged care facilities and services.
Menyeru pihak Kerajaan dan pemegangtaruh dari sektor Swasta dan Masyarakat Sivil untuk menangan isu-isu dan cabaran gaya hidup lanjut usia dan penjagaan jangka panjang warga emas serta memahami keperluan khas mereka dengan keupayaan fizikal dan mental yang berbeza-beza,
To call upon the Government as well as other Private and Civil Society stakeholders to address the issues and challenges of senior living and long-term care for older persons and understand the unique needs of the aged with different levels of physical and mental abilities
Menjadi platform untuk keukhwanan, perwakilan dan advokasi pihak-pihak berkepentingan dalam industri penjagaan warga emas, terutamanya dalam hal ehwal berkaitan perundangan seperti kepatuhan, pemantauan dan penguatkuasaan akta-akta serta garis panduan yang berkenaan.
To be a platform for the fraternity, representation and advocacy of key actors in the aged care industry, especially in the matters of legal concern, such as compliance, monitoring and enforcement of related acts and guidelines.

Registration of the Association was officially approved on 4th September 2018 by the Registrar of Societies Malaysia as a Pertubuhan Induk Bercawangan (Please refer to the Perlembagaan Pertubuhan for more details).
